Auction FundsOriginally, the Parent Advisory Council of the school placed all of the funds raised in the auction into a trust fund. The goal was to build a fund whose yearly interest would generate enough revenue to provide several scholarships and/or bursaries to Seycove graduates. Organizing parents soon after decided they would like the event to support current graduates of the school so it began that a portion of the funds raised went into a trust account and the rest of the revenue to be presented as scholarships and bursaries to the graduating class. As the success of the Auction grew the Parent Advisory Council moved to broadening its area of support, wishing that all the students in the school be served by the proceeds. Each elementary school has also joined in the tradition of providing two scholarships to deserving Seycove graduates who attended their elementary school. The distribution of the funds has also evolved over time. The Auction organizing committee and the Parent Advisory Council have complete autonomy over the distribution and expenditure of the proceeds. Presently the auction organizing committee designates a certain portion of the net revenue to the Seycove Scholarship and Bursary program and then equally distributes the remaining income to the Parent Advisory Councils of the four area schools. Each year the Parent Advisory Council decides where they will direct the efforts of the event. The Councils ask the schools for ideas regarding those areas needing the greatest support. Funds raised by the auction have supported the following activities and programs:
